Jasmine for Yasmine
On January 5th, 2014, my niece Yasmine turned 1. What better way to celebrate than making her a cake true to her name. I made her Princess Jasmine from fondant. We pronounce Jasmine in Arabic with a “Y”. This time I didn’t use any doll parts and I was pretty proud of that little sculpture. Those hands though, sigh. Hands are my Achilles hill. I placed her on two pillow shaped cakes which stole the show. My niece was happy. At least, I think so since she tried to touch the cake in every which cake, by hands or by feet
בחמישי לינואר, 2014, האחיינית שלי יסמין חגגה יום הולדת שנה. איזו דרך יותר טובה לחגוג מאשר להכין לה עוגה שחוגגת את שמה. הכנתי לה את הנסיכה יסמין מבצק סוכר. הפעם לא השתמשתי בחלקי בובה והייתי די גאה בפיסול הקטן שלי. חוץ מהידיים האלה. ידיים הם עקב האכילס שלי. הנחתי את הפיסול על שתי עוגות בצורת כריות שגנבו את ההצגה בסופו של דבר. האחיינית שלי היתה מאושרת. לפחות, נראה לי מאיך שהיא ניסתה לגעת בעוגה בכל צורה אפשרית, אם דרך הידיים או הרגליים
