SpongeBob SquarePants
When my twin nephew and niece celebrated their 5th birthday, I spent a few good days in Jaffa at my family’s house to create them a SpongeBob cake for Jamal and a Cinderella cake for Najwa. I didn’t have much time and I had to be fast and efficient. I was actually planning to make a standing SpongeBob. I almost succeeded. He was tall and square and magnificent. Unfortunately, the weather was hotter than usual. The ganache didn’t set properly and I had a bad feeling about it. The cake was set on a table next to me during the night. Just before I fell deep asleep, I heard a sudden thump! I knew the cake must have collapsed. I confirmed my suspicions in the morning. I got a second wind and tried to salvage the cake as best I can. I think I did a pretty good job after all.
